Tough Talks: Having Effective Crucial Conversations
Crucial conversations = firing someone, confronting someone, asking for more $$$, mediating intense dis-agreements.... These are the encounters that can damage working and personal relationships. Ineffec-
tive tough talks can also dismantle team spirit.
Members need to know how to discuss delicate situations without blaming and being intimidating.
Dealing with difficult people and appropriately handling caustic situations requires skills and practice. Screaming, name-calling, intimidation, and other ineffective methods lay the groundwork for volatile encounters. Acquire the skills needed to diffuse these challenging occurrences.
Attendees will spend the day practicing the necessary skills and applying them to varying situations. Learn how to assert yourself, speak with confidence, address diverse groups, and modify your talk while speaking to different personalities.

Seminar Outline
Module One: Opening Up
In this session, the groundwork is laid for attendees to do some introspection, and they will be taught tactics to handle tough talks. It's important before having any challenging discussion to first check self. Words are hard to retract so knowing what to say and how to say it is imperative.
Module Two: Staying Connected
It is important to get a grasp of several key factors that help you better relate to the recipients of the crucial conversation. Those factors will be addressed in this segment which will allow you to connect while communicating.
Module Three: Staying Collected
Information is needed before delivering a tough talk. Attendees will receive tactics that are often overlooked and how to use this information when engaging in difficult conversations.
Module Four: Staying in Control
The workplace is often very stressful with deadlines, inspections, and cross communications. The techniques to use to keep control and get your point across are addressed.
Module Five: The Art of Delivering the Tough Talk
Attendees will role play and practice the techniques of delivering tough talks. All of the strategies provided will be incorporated in this session.
